About Pixel Works
The trigger of this work is a surveillance camera directly above the installation. The image that forms when looking at the work from a certain point is a cross between the scene captured by the surveillance camera and the image of « La Reproduction Interdite » by René Magritte. The concept of Pixel Works overlaps with various themes such as "Surveillance society", " Virtual reality", and "Surréalisme".
この作品は、インスタレーションの真上にある監視カメラが構想のきっかけになった。ある一点から作品を見たときに結像するイメージは、監視カメラによって写し出されたその場の光景と、ルネ・マグリッド « La Reproduction Interdite (複製禁止) » のイメージを掛け合わせたものである。Pixel Worksのコンセプトが、「監視社会」「仮想現実」「シュルレアリスム」など様々なテーマと重なり合っている。
